Traveling by Airplane :

Closest airport: Frankfurt Main International Airport

Arriving at Frankfurt Airport, Terminal 1:
  • Collect your luggage on the arrival level
  • Follow signs to “Regionalbahnhof” (= regional train station)
  • Go to “Reisezentrum” (= travel center) or the ticket vending machine and purchase a train ticket to Fulda (the cheapest ticket – by “RE”-train - currently costs € 13,35)
  • Take “S-Bahn” (= city railway) to “Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof” (= main train station); journey time approx. 10 minutes
  • Get off S-Bahn at Hauptbahnhof and take a train (Regionalexpress - RE) to Fulda*

Arriving at Frankfurt Airport, Terminal 2:

  • Collect your luggage on the arrival level
  • Follow signs “Bahnhöfe via Sky Line” (= train station via Sky Line)
  • Then follow signs to “Regionalbahnhof” (= regional train station)
  • Go to “Reisezentrum” (= travel center) and purchase train ticket to Fulda (the cheapest ticket – by “RE”-train - currently costs € 13,35)
  • Take “S-Bahn” (= city railway) to “Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof” (= main train station); journey time approx. 10 minutes
  • Get off S-Bahn at Hauptbahnhof and take a train (Regionalexpress - RE) to Fulda*

Do not take an ICE train if you have purchased the ticket for € 13.35 - it is not valid on those!

Make sure you don't board a train without having purchased a ticket - you may be charged up to € 60!

* Trains to Fulda leave every hour. Journey time is 1h20 by RE. You can find out train schedules in the internet under www.bahn.de.


On the ISU-Arrival Day (July 17, 2010) the ISU-Registration Office will be open from 8am till 8pm at the café on the upper level of “Fulda Hauptbahnhof”. Please, check in there when you arrive (see Arriving in Fulda).

 

Traveling by Train:

Train connections to Fulda are excellent. You can find out your travel itinerary in the internet under www.bahn.de. Be careful to enter the right date. Train schedules change in June.

Traveling by Bus:

Tour operators offering long distance bus services to Fulda include:

  • Deutsche Touring
  • Eurolines

If you travel to Fulda by bus, you will arrive in the bus terminal which is located just next to “Fulda Hauptbahnhof” (= Fulda main train station).
